this is by far my favorite part of the movie. between ellen realizing to use the switch, the yuppies nearly getting blinded, and eddie showing up out of the blue, it's all quite hilarious. i can't wait until i see it again this year.

TWO HUNDRED FIFTY STRANDS OF LIGHTS EACH WITH 100 LIGHTBULBS EQUALS 25000 LIGHTS ON THE GRISWOLD HOME! My dad use to be like Clark with Christmas when I was younger, except he never put lights on the outside of our house, but the inside was always over done.

same here! all my family sit down xmas eve after weve been out with a box of celebrations and lots of sweets to watch this its a classic ma dad nos all the words and even though we no its cmin we still laugh at all the funny bits it never gets boring! :D

Yeah, unfortunately, that's usually the catch when it comes to showing one's holiday spirit, it shows on the electric bill and takes a toll on the environment; hopefully solar/wind/hydro/bio will take over completely one day and end all that.
